"L" is for Lindsay!

So a couple weekends ago my AWESOME friend Lindsay drove all the way up to Vernal to visit and let me borrow her MAD decorating skillz!  We worked on a bunch of projects, went picking and just about ate our body weight in Sweet Tooth Fairy Cupcakes Miss Stratford was kind enough to bring for a belated birthday celebration!  How awesome is she???  Surprisingly for us, we were sooooo busy we didn't take very many pictures--ODD, so these few will have to do!
Since I had TWO friends in ONE place, I just had to get them together--me, Linz and Shauna after a ROUGH day of pickin'!

The LOOT we scored...well SOME of it!

My new aqua painted wall...You can't tell, but we did quite the damage on this small piece of wall!  Who'dve thought the metal anchors on the mirror wouldn't hold after being taken down?  Apprently NOT us...Not going to lie, I wanted to cry just a littel bit after we hung it back up (and before we had put the cabinet back underneath it) and it came CRASHING to the floor and took out a HUGE chunk of my brand new baseboards :(  All's well--the cabinet covered up our diseaster very nicely...Take note of the cute little yellow stand and blue birdie...Courtesy of Lindsay herself!  What a cool gal!

Remember this chair I scored months ago at the D.I.???  Well, I painted it coral to match my bedroom and Linz is a pro at reupholstering so TA-DA it is finally finished and adnorning my room every so nicely!

We these decorative cubbies (I really have no idea what else to call them) above our kitchen and dining room so I printed off some silly pictures of the girlies had Mr. Handyman himself (aka Coby) make me some frames, which I then painted and WALLA!  Linz helped me arrange them and keep them standing up without the use of easels!  She introduced me to a new stability technique:  Jump as hard as you can underneath them and make sure they don't fall on your head...BRILLIANT!!!

Linz then helped me put my newly revamped yellow clock in the other one with some vintage bowling pins I had found months before.  And then Cobes hung up the sign I had made out of some wood the contractor of our home and ones under construction very kindly "gave" me...I say gave me, because hey he's the one who left it out unattended.  It's a little hard to read in the pic, but it reads "The best things in life are FREE"...very fitting I might add.
The most daunting task for me was figuring out what to put above my beatiful kitchen cabinets...It was very bare and sterile before El-say got here and took control!  With just a little counter balancing--and some $$$ for "surplies" here is the finished masterpiece...Isn't Lindsay AMAZING?!!

I'm sooooooooo lucky to have such a WONDERFUL friend!  Thanks Linz for coming out!  It was a
B-L-A-S-T and remember who are welcome back ANYTIME!  How's next weekend???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!

Daddy had his big 3-1 birthday this year (WOW, what an OLD man!)  We had the fam over for cake and ice cream to celebrate the big day!

All ready to blow out the MANY, MANY candles on the cake...with Mae's help of course!

Zai and Lu singing to Coby...How cute are these two???  They really are "kissing cousins!"  We might just have to intervene soon...

We are all soooooooo grateful for Daddy in our lives!  I'm so extremely blessed to have him as a wonderful hubby, provider and father to my girls!  Growing up not have my dad as a big part of my life has made me even MORE grateful (if that's possible) that my girls have him as a dad!  He works so hard, takes such good care of us and is just SOOOOOO much fun!  WE LOVE YOU DAD!!!!

DATE NIGHT!

Me and Coby have started taking turns alternating which big girl we get to go on a "date" with.  Here's from our latest:

Daddy and Lu...McDonald's, Grandma Angie's and the Lu's favorite-the DOLLAR STORE!
Me and Mae...on our way to see "Mirror, Mirror" which Mae in a word LOVED!

LOVE these girls and LOVE the one-on-one time!  They are soooooo fun and so uniquely different!

One happy guy!

Mae and Lu

We have started this little ritual at night where, in an effort to get Lu to JUST GO TO SLEEP, we turn on a show in Mae and Lu's room at bedtime, the thought being that they will be IN THEIR ROOM and will eventually fall asleep watching their show...this happens about 50% of the time--being generous.  The other night, we had to go in there MULTIPLE times before, little Miss Lu eventually gave up.  When she did, I went in to peek and CUTEST.THING.EVER.--she had climbed in Mae's bed with her and finally relented to sleep, all snuggled in with her big sis.  I called Coby in and wanted a pic SOOOOOOOO bad, but sadly, it was too dark and I didn't want it bad enough to wake up that little whirlwind and start the whole process all over again...So unfortunately, I do not have a picture of that, but I do have a couple different ones of these sweet sisters!
What would they do without each other???  I hope they always stay like this!

Guess who's on the MOVE...

That's right, my baby is MOBILE!  It's all downhill from here!  Her sister's didn't crawl until they were almost 11 months old, so Em shocked us when she started crawling all on her own at 8 months!  Here comes the baby-proofing...

OUT like a LIGHT!

I walked upstairs during Lu and Em's naptime, and my work time, to find Mae crashed like this "watching" her show...What a CUTE girl!

Little Miss Joy

Cutest.Thing.Ever.
Emme has truly lived up to her middle name, Joy, and she is just that!  She is SUCH a sweetheart and the perfect addition to our family!  I can hardly remember the time when she wasn't here.  No matter what is going on in our house (ie: complete chaos)  she can always bring a smile to her sisters' faces, her dads and especially MINE!  Seriously, who couldn't love that face???  It melts my heart :)

My little bug

I just love looking in on Emme when she is sleeping.  I love that little butt sticking up in the air, the little feet tucked under and the top of her head always up against the bumper pad...She is just too cute for words.

EASTER!

And here we are at Easter!  Our new awesome neighborhood and a fun little egg hunt in one of the empty dirt lots!  The girls were sooooooo excited to get some CANDY!

Later that day, we headed over to Grandpa George and Marty's for some food and another egg hunt.  While we were there, the girls just had to check out his new chicks.  Apparently, Lu decided the babies weren't as fun as the big ones and took off after them--no fear!  Sadly, we have no pictures of that!

EASTER MORNING!!!
The girls woke up pretty stoked to see what the Eastery Bunny had left them...Don't you just LOVE our morning looks?  The girls have taken to wearing one of mine or daddy's t-shirts for nightgowns and E.T. is ALWAYS a hit at our house so it is win-win!

Happy little Miss Joy!

Later that day...

My dad, stepmom and two little brothers were in town that weekend and later we hit up Nana and Papa's house for a BBQ/ and ANOTHER Easter egg hunt.
All the kids getting ready for the main event!  As usual, Nana and Papa went ABOVE and BEYOND and there were TONS of prizes for all the kids!

Check out Mae's loot!
We had such a WONDERFUL Easter weekend with our wonderful family!  Spending time with them makes me especially grateful of the Savior's sacrifice for us all.  A few days before Easter, we were getting ready for FHE where we'd be watching the Resurrection story and Coby and I were explaining it to the girls beforehand at dinner.  When we explained how Jesus died and then came back to life, Mae exclaimed, so proud of herself, "Just like Frankenstein!"  We laughed our heads off with that.  Later while thinking about it again, I decided while I am not so sure about the comparison, I am so proud of my little Mae-Mae for understanding and interpreting what we were telling her about Jesus and the resurrection.  I love all my girls sooooooo much!
HAPPY EASTER!

Mini Dance Recital

This post is beyond late in making its appearance in the blog, but at least it is here FINALLY!  A few months ago Mae and Lu had a dance performance at the Cheer Review at the High School.  They just did one number, but got all decked out in the fairy tutu's and wings for their "Tinkerbell" dance.  They were the VERY LAST performers, which made for a very long night with two very anxious little girls.  Mae was almost in a panic that she wasn't going to get to go out and dance for everyone.  Luckily, they eventually made it on the stage and they both danced their little hearts out!  This was Lu's first performance being in Mae's class and she was soooooo excited to have her sister there with her!

They were definitely the most beautiful ballerinas in the whole bunch!  NO CONTEST!!!
