Pretty Em

Ogden Trip

No summer would be complete without a visit to Ogden.  Poor daddy had to stay home so just the girls headed down to Ogden to play down there for a few days.

First things first, we all desperately needed an (attitude) adjustment by Grandpa!  Everyone was so brave and we all felt so much better!

We also went to North Shore Water Park with cousins Miya and Aspy and Aunt Capri, Grandma Laurie and Great Grandma and Grandpa.

Em was having a good time hanging with Great Grandpa just snacking away and pulling funny faces.
She may have snacked herself out...notice the doughnut in her hand ;)

By far the biggest hit was the big slide.  I cannot tell you how many times we went down it.  We had to alternate who went down with who, but we did it a ton!

Such a FUN day!  Love this place!

While we were there also we went to "The Croods" at a movie in the park.  We met Uncle Adam, Aunt Shanelle and Sadie there too.  The girls had such a fun night snuggling with Grandma and Grandpa snacking it up.

Em got especially comfortable with Grandpa!
We also had a big family dinner while we were there and got to see everyone.  We had such a GREAT time,  but we were anxious to get home to Daddy and Robo!

Dinosaur RODEO!

Daddy was working filming the rodeo here in town, so the girls and I took advantage and hit it up ourselves.  The girls had never been to one and Lu kept asking when we were going to the "radio" :)  They LOVED seeing all the horses and cowgirls and rodeo clowns...

and totally pigging out on super healthy rodeo food!
When we left afterwards, the girls asked if we could come back tomorrow.  I think they liked it.

A few more random summer pix...

Popsicles,

belly tattoos,

I took Mae to the "Basin's Got Talent" music show for a big girl's date!

Mae had been wanting to show her sisters the playground at her school and they were AMAZED!  She loved showing them the ropes of her school's playground and I'll admit, it is pretty AWESOME!

Lazy days in the sun with slip 'n slide, plastic pools and picnic lunches!
Man I LOVE summer!

Les Miserables- Outlaw Theater

The Outlaw Theater here in town did a family friendly version of Les Mis this summer and we knew the girls would love to go see it.  They were really good, even Little Miss Joy, up until the gunshots started right towards the end of the show.  Besides that, they were totally amazing and even the old man behind us complemented us on how "well behaved" our girls were.  Nothing better than that!

Independence Day!

Daddy had to work filming the 4th of July parade, so it was just me and the girls watching it.  The girls LOVED the parade, all except the trail of semi trucks honking their horns and the firetrucks--where Emme FREAKED out with all the loud noises!  Normally, loud things (like herself or her sisters) don't bother her, but WOW.  This time it was no bueno.  Besides that, it was a pretty awesome parade down our pretty Main Street.

On our way back to the car, the girls found the fountain and just had to go cool off!

Later that night, we found a pretty amazing spot to see most of the fireworks from all over town.  The girls had been DYING to see firework ALL DAY so we were so excited that it was time. Finally.

What a WONDERFUL day with my sweet family!  Hope my girls know how grateful I am for our country and the freedom we have here!

Dentist time...

We are super slackers and hadn't taken the girls to the dentist until this summer (don't judge!)...BUT in my defense, both girls had ZERO cavities!  Whoop, whoop!  Emme was super bummed that she didn't get a turn...next time little lady!  Mae and Lu did so good and were so excited to pick out a new toothbrush and watch a show with their little headsets.  Plus, they got a chapstick, pen and a little prize.  It was a good day.

Up on the Mountain

The girls LOVE going up on the mountain, especially when Nana and Papa are there!  The girls got to go on a jeep ride and shoot a REAL gun, and build a hideout...

and spend HOURS swinging on the rope swing!

Brag Tags

Vernal implemented a new summer program UNPLUGGED this summer, where kids would get little dog tags on a lanyard for doing certain activities this summer.  We were determined to collect a bunch of them this!
Dinosaur National Monument Quarry!  We got Tawny, Finn and Bennett to come with us and we had a GREAT, busy day!

Lu's very favorite Dinosaur- she loved black and white and dinosaurs so this is perfect for her!

Josie's cabin!  The girls, especially Emme absolutely LOVED this!  Em ran through the cabin pretending it was her house and that she had "powers" and it took A LOT of finagling to get her out of there!  She still talks about Josie and her cabin.
Jones Hole Fish Hatchery with Reagan and Mae's friend from school, Courtney

Lunch at the park

I had SUCH a fun time running around the town, doing things we probably wouldn't have done collecting brag tags with my girls!  What an awesome summer program!

Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to this amazing guy right here!  We kinda like him!  It takes a special kind of guy to live in a house full of girls and not go completely crazy :)  He is literally the BEST dad I know and I am so grateful my girls will grow up having a dad like him.  WE LOVE YOU!

YAY for SUMMER!

With summer finally being here, here is just a taste of the first few things we did...

CHORES!  We started implementing more daily chores--lucky for me, the girls don't know that cleaning the bathroom isn't fun yet...ha, ha!

Mae, Lu and I had a big girls night on the deck, having snacks and watching a movie...love summer nights!

We went to the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum where we had never been before.  It was really fun, but a little nerve racking for mom with all those very fragile antiques in grasp of lots of little hands :/

Every morning, we started having breakfast on the deck and usually turned into something like this: naked with major bedhead playing on the swing set.  Love the care-free days of summer as a little kid!

Went a saw Maleficent with ALL the girls! and they LOVED it!!!

FIRST DAY AT THE SPLASH PARK!  One of our favorite things to do!
More summer fun to come!!!
